2009 Board Election

We now invite you to put forward your nominees for the UK Screen Board. In addition to the roles of Chairman and CEO, we have 10 Director seats available which will be filled through the election process (independently administered by Nyman Libson Paul). The elected Board then has the right to co-opt additional Directors to meet any shortfall in representation.

The UK Screen Board champion’s the diverse interests of the services sector, represents our members’ collective interests and steers the overall future direction of the association, and as such your participation in this process is crucial.   You may self-nominate (so don’t be shy!) or nominate other suitably senior colleagues working in the sector.  Nominations must be received by Friday 16th October 2009.   Nomination form

The Conch celebrates UK audio talent

The great and the good of the audio industry gathered to attend the Conch Sound Awards for the 4th year running. The ceremony honoured projects, people and facilities within the 18 categories covering film, television and commercials.  We would like to congratulate all the winners and nominees –it was a record breaking year for nominations, so it was no mean feat to get on the short list!
This year’s winners included Quantum of Solace, Slumdog Millionaire, Hovis ‘Go on Lad’, Doctor Who and this year’s The Fellowship Award went to Keith Grant.

BT Mosaic takes members to dizzy heights

We were privy to a rare treat as over 70 members attended the BT Mosaic Event involving a trip to the top of the BT Tower to soak up the views and network over a glass of wine or two.
Jon Mobbs (Head of Innovation and Development) and David Catchpole (Programme Director) for BT Media and Broadcast put together an interesting, informative presentation for the members demonstrating the versatility of BT Mosaic - a single web-based platform which a number of members are now looking in to. If there are any similar technical events that you would like to see us putting together, please contact: angela@ukscreenassociation.co.uk
